Hmmmm....

Malachy went to the Dr. yesterday because I thought he was sick. He had 3 days of fever! The Dr. decided he was well enough for shots that have made him super grumpy! Grrrr! Also Dr. said we need to stop giving him milk bottles at night and get him off his pacifier or he will suffer a lifetime of dental consequences that will be my fault! Hmmmm...this is NOT going to be easy...as you can see Malachy has a strong affection for his "green thing"!

In other news....I have so much to say but I don't really feel like saying anything! I feel extremely vulnurable right now and my feelings are getting hurt pretty easily. It might be best for everyone if I retreat to my bedroom and hide under the covers watching the Firefox DVD's Arnez lent us! I will say I tried on my wedding dress the other day because Kim is painting me a picture! It is actually a reproduction of a portrait we saw in a book and loved. She is going to try to put my likeness into the painting but it won't actually be me. So I put on my dress and she took some photos for reference. It was fun. My dress still fit! Malachy thought it was a fun dress too...he tried to pull off the beads! Good times!

Sorry Steph, I hope I'm not one of the ones who have hurt your feelings. I left you two long comments on my blog and e-mailed you. =o)

Don't worry about Malachy and the green thing. He's not even two yet and Mad still has hers at naps and car rides (and sometimes more than that). Emily and Frank both had theirs until they were 2ish. Both of their teeth are coming in straight so far and if they do come in crooked it's not because of the binkis. And Noah had his until he was 3 and a 1/2 (they did get rid of his because the dentist said he could get an over bite though, but he was THREE AND A HALF!). And Sofie still has hers at naps and car rides she is 24 months. Maybe just start to slowly wean him and try it on a day when you notice he really isn't using it that much and is in a good mood That's what I did with Mad. I wouldn't dare try to start the weaning on a grumpy or sick day. Then start to keep them out of site and reach (the old out of site out of mind trick, but he will still ask for it but will in time not ask for it more and more). And then try to just let him have it for naps, car rides, bed times, quiet time. It's hard at first but just start slow and don't stress your self out. It's more important that Mama and baby can survive the day than bad teeth. KWIM? This is a challenge and you will get through it just like everything else that you did. Remember when you had to wean him off of breast milk? When you had to train him to go to bed at the same time every night? You thought it would never happen and look you did it because you rock and you are one awesome mom! This probably won’t happen over night (and will probably take a few weeks) so don’t beat yourself up.

Sorry for all the advice. Let me know if I over stepped my bounds!! I just wanted to help you to feel a little less pressure.

You know I am really glad that Maddie stopped sucking her thumb and took the binki. I couldn't imagine trying to take her thumb away!!! What a nightmare. I can't get either of my kids to stop biting their nails.

I just gottan know what else happened at the doctor!!!!!!!! If you get time tomorrow call me.
