Compassion from Steph!?

I'm really excited! After feeling convicted for months now, I finaly wrote the check and signed up to support a kid in Africa for 32 a month! I'm excited to make the difference in at least one childs life there! It feels good that I'm not just talking about it anymore but that I'm actually doing something (as small as it may be, it's something) I hope Mark and I can do more in the future. We are also monthly supporting a friend of mine who is a full time missionary and spending time in Kenya, Africa this summer with 23 other people. They will (among other things) spend a week in Kibera, the largest slum in Nairobi (the capitol city).

As far as the G8 decision and all that goes I support Debt relief and Aid to Africa, and maybe I'm wrong maybe it will just complicate the problem. I certainly don't have all the answers. But I do have hope and I hope it will make a difference!

I'm positive supporting a child through Compassion and supporting my missionary friend will make a difference and I feel really good about finaly getting off the side lines and getting involved! I thank God for making it possible for me to do that financialy and helping me develop the discipline to stop buying crap and putting my money where my mouth is!
